You are welcome to choose the option that works best for you, and many patients even use a combination of both.

What does an ADHD evaluation consist of?
An ADHD evaluation is more than a checklist—it’s a comprehensive process. It begins with a clinical interview to explore symptoms across different life stages and settings. Importantly, there are many mimics to consider prior to making a diagnosis of ADHD. Standardized tools, such as The Behavior Assessment System for Children (BASC-3), Brown Executive Function/Attention Scales, and the Delis Rating of Executive Functions (D-REF), are used to measure attention, executive functioning, and self-regulation. When appropriate, collateral information from parents, partners, or teachers may be included. The evaluation concludes with a personalized report that outlines strengths, challenges, diagnostic impressions, and evidence-based treatment recommendations.
